MURPHY SCOTT WULFGAR as an actor, director, and writer is a founding member and half of one of the longest-standing and most prolific theatres in Omaha, NE: the Brigit Saint Brigit Theatre Company (BSB). Over the last three-plus decades, you may remember his work as a performer in Hamlet, Macbeth, The Playboy of the Western World, A Streetcar Named Desire, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Othello, Philadelphia, Here I Come, Freedom of the City, Dancing at Lughnasa, Shining City, Much Ado About Nothing, The Odd Couple, or most recently in Faith Healer (2025) and Doubt: A Parable (2025).

Murphy is also an accomplished writer and director who transforms spaces into immersive theatre productions. He has turned a local diner into Arthur Miller’s Nazi stranglehold (Incident at Vichy, 2019); chilled audiences by fireside on farmland with his Fireside Tales Series (2021-present); morphed an empty church hall into an Auschwitz prison barracks (God on Trial, 2022); brought the oldest synagogue in our region to life for Paddy Chayefsky’s The Tenth Man (2023); and transported audiences to 1977 NYC with his adaptation of Bram Stoker’s masterpiece (Dracula 77, 2023).

Murphy continually advocates for neurodivergent artists, evolving his processes, characters, and stories to accommodate performers of all kinds.
